Christians today need an understanding of, and more importantly, need experience of the Spirit in our lives if we hope to know God and follow Jesus.
Pentecostalism not withstanding, Evangelicals have focused on theology in order to respond to many of the modern philosophies of the past few centuries. Lost in this pursuit of knowledge, but more important than ever before in our postmodern environment, is a new awakening experience of the Spirit in the lives of Christians and in the life of the Church. Many of us know Paul's views on justification or salvation, but have we spent enough time focusing on his understanding of and experience of the Spirit? The answer for most is no.
Our series aims to re-awaken our imagination to the climax of the story of God's work in his people. He has, in the final times, renewed his presence with his people through his Spirit and has made them the people of the future, while they live radically different, empowered lives through the work of the Spirit. The Spirit works in the miraculous but more often in the mundane. He is with us at the core of who we are, reminding us of who Jesus is and bearing his fruit in the life of the church and in those who are a part of it.
