Our Family of Churches

The Northeast church is the church that started our humble network.  Meeting in a warehouse in 1997, a small group of about 30 people from all over the metroplex began confessing sin and praying that God would lead them wherever he wanted them.  Little did they know they were beginning a different way of doing church than they were all used to.  This church would be from the 'ground up' and from the 'inside out.'  Soon after beginning a weekly service, they were introduced to the Walnut Village Church of Christ in Garland.  The members of this church of older, faithful Christians were led to give the fledgling, but energetic Northeast Church their building and open up a door for them to do ministry in the community and all over DFW.  Since then, the Northeast Church has planted three churches and has also planted close to ten college ministries through an organization called FOCUS.

The Wylie Northeast church was planted by the Northeast Church in Garland in 2009.  This community church immediately began reaching out to all types of people in the Wylie community. And after only three short years, they believed God was leading them to plant a church in the Denton area, the Denton North Church, for the over 30 college students from UNT and TWU who were driving an hour each week just to be a part of their fellowship.

FOCUS or Fellowship of Christian University Students started right around the time that Northeast began in 1997.  The group launched first at Richland College then at University of Texas at Dallas, where few college ministries existed already.  They had the full backing of the Northeast church as they sent missionaries onto the campus knowing full well that many of the students that would join this organization may never set foot in their church.  The ministry grew rapidly as college students were eager to make friends and hear from God.  In 2005, FOCUS started its third ministry at Collin College in Plano.  Although the community college was a different environment form the university, the ministry grew and God brought all types of people to be a part of the group.  In 2010, FOCUS planted a ministry at UNT.  As of 2015, FOCUS has ministries on 9 campuses in the DFW area: UT Dallas, Collin College Spring Creek, Collin College Preston Ridge, Collin College Central Park, Richland College, UNT, TWU, North Central Texas College in Corinth, and UT Arlington.
